Prophet Muhammad (sas) said: "Even a smile is charity." Since Islam is defined as way of life the scope of Islam and life should be fully convergent. As Islam is based on human nature, it also fully takes into account that nature, in its entire dimension. As a reflection of many different types of extremities among us as Muslims, some have divorced Islam in search of their jest and fun.
Others, due to their "love" for Islam, have purified Islam and their life from any humorous dimension: So, no fun or humor.
The latter group is petrified by a reminder from the Prophet Muhammad  , "O followers of Muhammad! By Allah, if you knew what I know, you would weep much and laugh little." [Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 8, #627]

Some modifications and additions have been made, © 1994 Basheer Publications "Islam began as something strange, and it shall return to being something strange, so give glad tidings to the strangers." The Meaning of "Strangeness" Many times in many situations the people that follow the religion of Allah feel a sense of not belonging, of being out of place, of not fitting in, and, in other words, of being strange. This feeling could occur in a gathering of non-Muslims, but, unfortunately, this feeling sometimes also occurs when one is with his fellow Muslims. A person sees his brothers and sisters doing acts that are contrary to Islam, or taking part in innovations that sometimes even border on kufr (apostasy), yet he feels that he does not have enough power or courage to stop them in these acts. Some brothers and sisters, especially if they do not have enough taqwa or Islamic knowledge, sometimes buckle under the pressure of their peers and join in these acts, knowing that this is not what Allah wants them to do. However, feeling helpless, since it seems that they are alone in their ideas and without any support to help them do what is right, they succumb to such pressures. These brothers and sisters, may Allah have mercy on them, should take consolation in the verses of the Qur’an and the many statements of the Prophet (peace be upon him) describing this very situation of strangeness that they feel. |

Dear Visitors and members, With a completely new interface and design, Afghania once again strives to be one of the best sites for Afghan community. With variety of new and previous features, we at Afghania try to provide you with great ways to communicate and will also provide sane and useful content. We are still populating our database with articles. Unfortunately, our original domain name has been taken by another website. We, current team members are not aware how this could happen but the only two situations that it could be possible is either, Afghania's original domain name was sold by the person who was responsible or he forgot to renew and lost the domain name. The latter is perhaps the more likely scenario. We are not going to make an effort to approach the current owners of the domain name, because not only they will not sell it back to us and even if they agree they may have a high demand for it. We in Afghania are not about that. We provide in sharing, and caring and providing free services and as a matter of fact we do not shy away from promoting other Afghan websites. Now, we also have a sister website, afghanvoice.com. I have learned that the goal of the both websites are pretty much the same, to promote Islam and Afghan traditions and to channel the unheard voice of Afghan people against the invasion of our country. We pray to Allah that you find this website useful, informative, tactful and fun. |
